Laboratory Animal Center

Laboratory Animal Center

The SuperLab Laboratory Animal Center is divided into the Specific Pathogen Free (SPF) and Conventional Clean (CC) divisions, which conduct toxicology, effectiveness, and biocompatibility tests on rats, mice, hamsters, guinea pigs, and rabbits. These animal laboratories provide a foundation for R&D work related to medicines, health foods, and medical appliances. In the absence of reliable environments and facilities for laboratory animal rearing, it becomes difficult to link any animal experimental findings and research with the real world and, in turn, to introduce biotechnological products on the international market.

In view of this issue, the Center engages not only in the professional management of laboratory animal rearing, but also reinforces the concepts of overall animal protection and their implementation in each experiment, with on-site examinations being conducted by the Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee, Council of Agriculture, Executive Yuan.
